Wine tourism is in fashion. A way of touring Mallorca through secondary roads and coming across unique places that combine tradition, nature and culture through the more than 70 wineries located in the nerve center of the Balearic archipelago and that offer guided tours and exquisite wine tastings.

The quintessential wine route is sponsored by the D.O. Binissalem, and runs through the plain of Mallorca between Santa Maria del Camí, Consell, Binissalem, Sencelles and Santa Eugenia. The wineries that make up the Binissalem Denomination of Origin stand out for being of family tradition although with a strong commitment to technology and training, which together with the variety of local grapes, make the wine have a unique character and flavor, recognized throughout national and international level.

Among the native varieties, Manto Negro, Wallet, Moll, Gargollassa and Giró Ros stand out. The winery of José Luis Ferrer, whose grandchildren founded what we now call D.O. Binissalem, is a mandatory stop. His wines are a symbol of the island's wine culture, produced since 1931 and reflect the unique characteristics of the native grapes.

At the foot of the Tramuntana, in Consell, we find Bodega Ribas, a farm managed for ten generations by experts in the cultivation of vineyards. Pedro Ribas founded the winery in the 18th century, which has 49 hectares where the local varieties of Montenegro and Prensal grow, working with traditional and ecological viticulture that originate powerful and intense wines.

In 1856 Macià Batle began in the art of oenology, making wines in his own vineyard, in Biniali. Almost 150 years later, in 1998, they built the modern facilities that the winery has today, acclaimed not only for the cultivation and subsequent production of quality wines, but also for the role that art has in its brand, since a Once a year, a local artist produces a special edition with a designer label.
